Our services are casual, Jesus-centered, and designed to help us connect with God, through the teaching of His Word. Â
Our services feature a blend of modern Christian songs and timeless Hymns. Â
There is a nursery for your littles, but we want you to know that you are also welcome to have your kids with you during worship if that serves you better. Our Kids' rooms are on the basement level of the building.
You may park at the church or across the street at the Pownal Town Hall. Â Once at the church, follow the stairs up to the top floor worship room. Â Handicap access is via the ramp on the Elmwood Road side of the building and leads to first (middle) floor elevator (past the kitchen & dining hall). Â
A Place to Belong
Pownal Church is a Place for You. Â We are small enough to not get lost. Â We are also a growing church with people from every age group. Â If you're looking for community and a Place to Belong, this is a great place for you. Â
A Place to Become
While people from all ages call Pownal Church home, we have a growing young adult community. Â Some have known the Lord for a while and others are new to Jesus. Â Whether you see yourself as far from God or as a growing Christian, we have a place for you. Â This is Place where it's safe to be where you are, while also waiting for the Lord to help you become all that He desires for you to be. Â
Pastor, Â Brandton Wood
Brandton is a Georgia farm boy who grew up with his feet in the sandy soil of South Georgia.  He is married to Katie, a Bean Boot native New Englander who brightens every room she enters.  Katie grew up in coastal New Hampshire and has a Masters in Christian Counseling while Brandton has a Master of Divinity.  Brandton and Katie met in grad school and married in 1997.  They have 3 beautiful girls, a son-in-law, chickens, geese, and a pack of collies.  Before serving in Pownal, the Woods served in Church Planting in ME, GA, and NH with NAMB (Send Network).  They have also served churches through Youth and Music Ministry.  The Woods live on Wood Meadow Farm in Durham.Â

We have a rich history rooted in the core beliefs that God's Word is True, Jesus has come to seek and save the lost, and that anyone who asks for God's forgiveness, turns from their sin, and trusts Christ as Lord will be saved. Â

We are made up people of various backgrounds and our church attendees live in many surrounding towns. Â

We embrace the inerrancy and infallibility of God's Word, the Bible.Â

We are blended in worship (hymns & contemporary songs from Passion, Elevation, Gettys, etc.).
